Occupy has been called on to mobilize immediately for a solidarity action!
When: Saturday, February 25, 2012, 9:00 AM
Where: Downtown Pleasanton, corner of Bernal Avenue and Main Street
Transportation: Rides will be available from Oscar Grant Plaza at 8:00 AM. Drivers/cars are needed. We are also providing shuttles from Dublin/Pleasanton BART from 9:00 – 10:00 AM.
For 729 Days, the Castlewood Country Club has been using scab labor and locking out the employees who stand for their dignity. Now, they are seeking the help of Occupy to bring attention to this blight.
Come tomorrow and join in saying “An injury to One is an injury to All.”
We will be marching from downtown Pleasanton to the country club for a rally and protest. We are planning on bringing tents and occupying an unclaimed area adjacent to the country club in protest of the inhumane treatment of the workers who have been locked out in a clear attempt to break their union. We are also planning a mock counter-protest by the 1% (i.e. the country club members). Keep in mind that the goal is to end the lockout and get the workers back to work, so all actions should keep strategy, discipline, and accountability in mind when considering tactics.
For people driving to the event, there is parking near the end of the march (Castlewood Drive between Foothill and Pleasanton-Sunol Rd.) The union will have drivers to take you to the starting
point, and then at the end of the day your car will be nearby.
KIDS’ MARCH – there will be contingent of kids, including Castlewood employees’ children. If you are bringing any little ones, you should be able to find the group when you arrive. They will have sign-making material for the kids.
