On our second day in Chicago, we marched to the mayor’s home and protested the closing of 6 of the city’s 12 mental health clinics. People from all over the nation joined in protest against the privatization of all aspects of our lives. Corporations have profit, not people’s health at heart and Rahm Emanuel has shown himself to be just another politician for the 1%.

It looks like we'll be getting to Chicago tonight, fingers crossed, so we're gathering all the updates we'll need when we get there. I hope the team will get a good night's sleep tonight lying fully horizontal, but I figure we better be prepared for anything. [...]
Did the California Nurses Association try to block Bay Area Occupiers from going to Chicago? That’s what we’re being told. It seems someone at the top of the organization cancelled our bus, just because they seemed to believe that Oakland is all about violence. If you’re a nurse, you’ve probably noticed that the main stream press often distorts the true picture of what it means to be a nurse. Don’t [...]

Rene posts the notice and I’m one of the first to sign up. First area of confusion: Their front page says there’ll be a bus from San Francisco, where I live, but the [...]
