San Francisco Occupiers celebrated Occupy’s one year anniversary with multiple actions, then converging in the downtown area for a march and rally. In front of Wells Fargo Bank, they symbolically tore up their mortgage and student loan debts and painted a large work of art on the pavement.

The Cruz family of Minneapolis fell behind on their mortgage payments to PNC bank when the economy crashed. The bank refused to accept an online payment, demanding a multiple-month payment instead. More homeowner auctions shut down! On 1 June 2012, community residents came together to show the banks and speculators that we know that 84% of their foreclosures are illegal and we will not allow these robberies and land grabs to continue. Bay Area Occupies joined ACCE and nonviolently raised hell. The speculators had no choice but to leave.
