6:30pm
Join the Oakland Action Network, Phat Beets, and the Humanist Hall for a viewing of the acclaimed documentary film Urban Roots!
Urban Roots chronicles the rise of the food movement in Detroit, where a rapidly failing economy has limited access to healthy food in historically underserved areas. “Urban Roots is a timely, moving and inspiring film that speaks to a nation grappling with collapsed industrial towns and the need to forge a sustainable and prosperous future.” As community gardens and guerilla farming become more popular in urban landscapes, Urban Roots provides a model for other cities, including Oakland.
This event is FREE.
