Egyptian Americans from all over the Bay Area gathered in San Francisco on 8 December 2012 to protest the dictatorship of Mohamed Morsi Isa El-Ayyat and the Muslim Brotherhood. Egyptians want justice and democracy and NOT an Islamic republic.
Throw out everything you think you know about revolution. This is reality, not theory. “How do you get enough people in the street to reach the tipping point where everyone with enough anti-regime sentiment will feel safe enough to demonstrate? How do you communicate effectively within the movement, and tell the movement’s side of the story to the outside world? And how do you sustain pressure on the regime despite [...]
Walmart pays the lowest wages, forces employees to work irregular schedules, and intimidates and retaliates against workers who fight back. So on 23 November 2012, workers held a one day strike. Strikers celebrated with music, dancing and food. The Bay Area community mobilized to support the workers and tell Walmart that everyone deserves respect.

We have been asking corporations and our government to label food products so we can make educated decisions about what we eat. Most are heads of major corporations and represent the interests of those corporations, not of the students or of the state of California. While claiming that the university has no money, Regents waste untold millions on pet construction projects that only line the pockets of their corporate cronies. On [...]
