Beloved Brothers and Sisters,

 

Many of us are receiving guidance from ancestors about this moment, and the events unfolding in Oakland and across the world. I thank ancestors, elders and Colorful Mamas of the 99%, and Nghia Tran, Patricia St Onge, Wilson Riles, Jerry Tello, Jidan Koon, Taj james and Sara Mizner for guidance and support. Without them this blessing would not have been possible.

 

On 11/13/11 we offered an Intergenerational Blessing and Message from the Ancestors at the OO General Assembly, the evening before second police raid.

 

Nghia drew a picture about the importance of the configuration. He said many people do not have an experience of wholeness across generations and cannot imagine what wholeness looks like. Sharing this message with visible and physical wholeness was important. As one connected to my elders, ancestors, and with deep love for children now and children yet to come, this resonated deeply with me. The circle included:

• Elders in the circle offering their own message about how we arrived here and history of land we were standing on, Gratitude to Patricia St Onge and Wilson Riles and indigenous grandmothers for holding this space.
• I delivered messages that ancestors asked me to share, as did Sara Mizner.
• Young mothers and children in front sharing their own message about their vision for their children’s  future and next 7 generations. Thank you Morning Star, a Native American mother, for her powerful message on behalf of her children and the earth. And thank you Coriander of the Colorful Mamas of the 99% for being there with her children and speaking wisdom as well

My hope is to see video so I can transcribe the wonderful wisdom shared by others in the circle with me. For now I humbly offer the message the ancestors asked me to share. Thank you to beings past and present for the gift you are in my life and in the world. Sending love to all my relations…

 

Message from Ancestors and Elders:

 

Welcome. We invite you to just be. To explore ancient ways of being with each other. The ancestors thank you for making space so that many voices can be heard.

 

They have asked me to share a blessing for children now and for children of the next 7 generations, given to me by elder Jerry Tello. They say it is for all of you too.

 

You are LOVED. You are a BLESSING. You are SACRED just the way you are. You have DIGNITY. You have WISDOM and GIFTS for the WHOLE.

 

Please say this aloud with me: I am LOVED. I am a BLESSING. I am SACRED just the way I am. I have DIGNITY. I have WISDOM and GIFTS for the WHOLE.

 

Now please turn to someone near you, perhaps someone who appears different from you. Speak these words aloud to them: You are LOVED. You are a BLESSING. You are SACRED just the way you are. You have DIGNITY. You have WISDOM and GIFTS for the WHOLE.

 

The elders say we are in the process of reMEMBERing. To dismember means to take a body apart in pieces. So to remember is to recall what we once knew. But to reMEMBER is also about bringing the pieces back into wholeness.

 

The ancestors are asking you to help build a NEW WORLD. A world where everyone is proud of where they come from. A world where everyone is invited to share their WISDOM and GIFTS with the whole.

 

The ancestors say it is a blessing to be borne at this time. It is the prophesy of many indigenous peoples that we are in a time of opportunity to make a great leap in human evolution and consciousness,

 

But it is not just an opportunity for you as an individual. It is also a tremendous responsibility to children now, and the children of the next 7 generations that we do so.

 

There is a quote: “Change is inevitable. Growth is intentional.” We must choose to grow together.

 

Ancestors send you deep gratitude Occupy Oakland. You are an expression and a dream of this NEW WORLD. You must make room for OTHER dreams and expressions of this new world. Your expression has opened the door for others to dream and express.

 

But you must make space for the openness, humility and relationships it will take to reMEMBER our wholeness. If you do not, this opportunity you have been given will be lost.

 

If you do, the ancestors say you will be unstoppable.

P.S. Ancestors later asked me to share this as well: Pay attention to the choices you make now, and what you are learning from your choices and experiences. In this way you will be preparing to be elders 20-30 years from now, and preparing to be ancestors 100 years from now.
